Indian Clothing Store Near Fremont

Why Fremont families drive to our store in Milpitas

By Jedi Solomon, CEO, JCS Fashions

I run JCS Fashions out of Milpitas, and I know Fremont well because so many of you come down. Ardenwood, Warm Springs, Irvington, Mission San Jose, Niles. Most weekends somebody from one of those neighborhoods is in the boutique with a function that evening or a wedding coming up, and often it is a family I have dressed before.

You have Indian shops of your own on Fremont Boulevard and near Mowry, so I want to explain plainly why people pass them and drive twenty minutes to me.

You get the shop to yourself

We work by appointment. When you arrive, the boutique is yours for that hour. No other family is going through the same rack, nobody is waiting behind you at the mirror, and nobody is hurrying you. Bring your mother, or put your sister in Chennai on a video call and let her vote. Customers tell me this is the part they come back for.

You leave with clothes that fit

We do alterations here. If a blouse needs taking in or a kurta sleeve needs an inch off, it is done before you get back on 880. For a lot of Fremont customers that is the whole reason for the trip: one appointment instead of a shop visit and then a separate tailor visit the following week.

Everything you see is already here

Nothing I sell is shipped from India after you order it. If it is on my shelf or on this website, it is in Milpitas. You can take it home the same day, or if you cannot make the drive I ship it to any US address.

What Fremont families usually come for

Fremont is Gujarati and Punjabi families, a big Tamil and Telugu community, and plenty of homes that are a mix of all of it. The same things come up again and again:

If you are dressing a whole family for a wedding, say so when you call. I will pull lehengas, men's kurtas and kids' pieces together so you can see them side by side.

Getting here from Fremont

From Warm Springs or central Fremont, take I-880 South to Milpitas; outside commute hours it is about twenty minutes. From Irvington or Mission San Jose, I-680 South is just as quick. The boutique is in a residential neighborhood, so please book before you come so someone is ready for you.
